6 Hour Course Content –
Understanding Arc Flash Hazards: Review OSHA 1910 & 1926 (Subpart V) standards, as it relates to working on exposed energize parts. We will review the process in creating an Energized electrical work permit and review what type of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is to be used. We will also review Article 130 within the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)-70E – “Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace” requirements. We will also review how to perform the arc flash calculation in determining the proper PPE that is required for the task.
Generators 101: Review automatic transfer switches, sizing of the generator, and the emission requirements of emergency generators.
